Understanding the Plan
The Citation Protection Plan™ from TicketGuard is a monthly membership subscription that covers the costs of traffic, parking, and speeding ticket fines. If you receive a qualifying citation, TicketGuard pays your citation fine up to the specific coverage limit of your selected plan (e.g., up to $150 for speeding). You are responsible for any amount over the cap. Terms and restrictions apply.
No. The Citation Protection Plan™ is not insurance and is not regulated as such. It is a simple, affordable subscription service that helps licensed drivers manage the costs of traffic citation fines without dealing with insurance complexities.
How it Works
If you receive a citation, visit the TicketGuard website and click Submit Claim. Fill out the form and upload an image of your ticket. TicketGuard will review your claim and pay the fine directly to the appropriate agency or court. This service is available to subscribers nationwide, offering fast and reliable financial protection.
The plan covers a wide range of common traffic violations including: speeding tickets, parking citations, moving violations, adult seat belt violations, cell phone or distracted driving infractions, red light camera tickets, teen driver violations, traffic control device violations, failure to yield, and more.
You must submit your claim within 72 hours of receiving the citation. Late submissions cannot be processed.
Your subscription covers up to 4 citation claims per 12-month period.
Eligibility
Any U.S. resident with a valid driver's license can join. Teen drivers under 18 with an intermediate driver's license can be enrolled by a parent or guardian who also holds a valid license. Even drivers with past citations can subscribe.
Yes — as long as your license is currently valid and reinstated (if previously suspended), you're eligible for membership.
Enrollment
Click the Citation Protection Plan tab and follow the steps to enroll. Your plan activates 24 hours after registration, giving you fast access to protection.
Plans start at $19.99/mo for Standard coverage. We also offer a Premium Plan ($29.99/mo) with higher coverage limits (e.g., speeding up to 18mph over), and you may cancel membership and plan subscription at any time without any further obligation or costs. TicketGuard offers the Citation Protection Plan subscription via membership enrollment.
Coverage
Yes — you're covered across all 50 states. Whether you're at home or traveling, your plan protects you from traffic-related fines anywhere in the U.S.
To qualify, your Citation Protection Plan must be active before receiving a citation. Claims submitted for tickets received prior to your registration will not be processed.
